Starting in January 2020, I’ll be an assistant professor in the department of Computer Science and Operations Research (DIRO) at the University of Montreal, and member of Mila - Quebec Artificial Intelligence Institute. I’ll be looking for strong PhD students and postdocs to do research in causality, machine learning, and natural language processing. If you’re interested, please apply directly to the program and mention my name.
Currently, I’m a postdoctoral researcher in the Data Science Institute at Columbia University, working with David Blei. My research is at the intersection of causality, machine learning and NLP, focusing on applications to computational social science.
I received my PhD from University of California Santa Cruz, where I worked with Lise Getoor. My thesis research was about machine learning for relational data.
